ANTAGONIST DOSES

An IV bolus of 50% Glucose should be given if there is any question of hypoglycaemia.

Naloxone (0.4-2.0 mg IV) will reverse the sedative effects of opioids rapidly. Give as repeated 0.2 mg boluses and titrate against effect.

Flumazenil (0.1-2.0 mg IV) will reverse the effects of benzodiazepines and may have partial effects with zopiclone and alcohol poisonings. It should not be used if there is evidence (history, ECG and/or clinical findings) for ingestion of proconvulsant drugs.
